Monodraw is smart enough not to display duplicate entries for snippets which are available both as part of the app and in the repository. If you want to always have the latest snippets without waiting for updates, you can just checkout monodraw-snippets inside your User Snippets folder. If you want to include your snippet as part of the app, send us a Pull Request. We have created a public GitHub repository which we will use to accumulate snippets. They can be easily shared and are saved in a source control-friendly format. SnippetsĪs previously revealed, you can now create custom re-usable shapes. Please report any issues so that we can fix them. It should be fairly safe to use but in case you stumble upon workflow-breaking bugs, you can always get the stable version from our website. To get the latest build, open the Preferences window, select the Updates tab and turn on pre-release updates. Monodraw v1.1 is now available - make sure you have checked out the Snippets sneak peek! If you want to be one of the first ones to get the update, keep an eye on our blog. The plan is to push it out to the pre-release branch (see the Update tab in the Preferences window). Work on Monodraw v1.1 has almost wrapped up, we just need to fix a few more bugs. This functionality is shown in the screencast below. Monodraw knows how to handle snippet bundles and will automatically ask you to install them when opened in Finder. We would love to integrate useful snippets from the community. If you would like to include your snippets as part of Monodraw, please get in touch. A snippet bundle is a standard macOS directory package with a custom extension ( monosnippet) containing two JSON files (content and metadata). Snippets have been designed to be shareable from the start. That's it! The screencast below shows the workflow in action. The snippet name is the only required field and you can leave the rest empty. ![]() Snippet creation could not be easier: just select the shapes you want to re-use, activate the Snippets tab (⌘3) and click on the "Add Snippet" button. To use a snippet, you can either hover on it and click on the + button or alternatively, use drag & drop. Snippets are shown in the third tab as part of the inspector pane (right side). We're adding a much requested feature - Snippets! Snippets allow you to define re-usable shapes that can be easily shared with other Monodraw users. We have been working on a very important update to Monodraw and we wanted to give you a sneak peek.
